Many of you will be jetting off on holiday this year and may have suffered badly from jetlag in the past. It can lose you at least a day of your precious holiday, so here are some tips and advice on overcoming jetlag using EFT. I am in Singapore at the moment running workshops with Peter and so far it has been beyond wonderful.

Before I flew out I posted in my Facebook group asking for some tips on overcoming jetlag and I got a great response- so thank you for those suggestions. I shot a video at the airport before I got on the plane which you can watch below. Or watch on Youtube or Facebook

For those of you who are Bruce Willis fans, you may remember in one of the Die Hard movies, he was pacing about the room in bare feet, wriggling his toes in the carpet. Apparently this helps with jetlag!

Seasoned travellers change their watches to their destination time as soon as they get on the plane- this helps them to “think” in that timezone.

Avoid alcohol- as it is both a stimulant and dehydrates you. Flying at altitude has various impacts on your body so it is advisable to drink plenty of water, this keeps you hydrated and flushes out any toxins.

Try adjusting your food consumption to your destination mealtimes. Air carriers almost always seem to be feeding you, but they do try and make the final meal reflect the detination’s timezone. However, it can feel weird eating breakfast when you feel like going to sleep, or dinner when you have just woken up. Let the airline know in advance if you have specific dietary requirements, such as gluten free or vegan etc. You don’t want to be hungry because the food is not suitable. The general rule is little, and often. Bringing snacks such as nuts, raisins, dried fruit, fresh fruit are a good idea to quell the pangs of a stomach confused as to what meal time it is.

If you struggle to sleep on airplanes, then many recommend lavender sleeping pillows, especially the ones that cradle your neck. These give you support and the lavender is calming and helps you get to sleep.

If anxiety strikes as the plane takes off, suck some boiled sweets and do EFT. The sweets will help with the compression in your ears and the EFT will focus and calm you.
