Healing Limiting Beliefs with EFT

In childhood, we respond to upsetting events by creating limiting beliefs such as “I’m not good enough” or “I’m alone”.

These beliefs can hold you back from feeling free to express yourself or to be yourself instead of trying to fit into yours or others patterns or higher ideals.

On top of this, you may judge yourself for responding to situations that created the limiting belief.

For example, if as a child, you could not answer a maths question at school and felt humiliated in front of the class, you may have concluded that you were not good enough.

Based on that assumption, you may have made a decision to never put your hand up in case you got it wrong.

Looking back you may feel disappointed that, based on that decision, you didn’t take chances in life and missed out on opportunities.
When working with limiting beliefs with EFT, it is important to work with the belief itself, the memory that triggered it and the judgements about the fact that this happened and that it created this behaviour in you.
To identify the judgements about this limiting belief and the behaviour its caused is to ask yourself:
“What is the worst thing about this?”
