Picture Tapping Technique (PTT)

This week I took part in a one day workshop on Picture Tapping (PTT) with Philip Davis and Christine Sutton.  It combines EFT with drawing and is great for people who find it hard to express, people who are in their heads or are not in touch with their feelings, children and for people with global issues such as I’m not good enough.

Part of the day included witnessing a demo of this work in practise and I was blown away to see how quickly and painlessly as an issue was resolved.  We were then able to put the technique into practise.  Here are my pics from one of my sessions.  I worked on my frustration of not being able to see well.  After I drew each picture I did one round of tapping until I finally drew a picture where I felt resolved about the issue.  At this stage, I can’t tell if the session made a difference to my eyesight although I definitely don’t feel agitated about it any more!

What I found fascinating was the importance of the use of “Clean Language” used when guiding the client is key to the process.  The concept of Clean Language as created by David Grove and involved not using words in questions that introduce external input into the client’s experience.  So for example if the practitioner says “Draw anyTHING you LIKE”, the client may interpret that as drawing an object (as opposed to a feeling) that they like (as opposed to how it is and they may not like it).  Instead we were guiding to say “If you were to draw a picture of how this issue makes you feel then what would that picture look like?”.  We were giving a script to go through when guiding the client through the process.
