Over the last few years, I have been slowly but gradually putting on weight. Some say that this is typical of my age and should expect it but I don’t buy into that! Here is some more background to my weight loss story.
I have never dieted before so decided to join Weightwatchers and was able to lose about a stone over about 7 months. Then, last November, I was in an amateur dramatics musical production called The Wedding Singer and one of my costumes was the tightest, shortest black dress so drastic measures were required! After being recommended to try Jason Vale‘s “The Juicemaster Diet 7 Lbs in 7 Days“, I went for it and the book was right! It wasn’t easy – I was tired and did have headaches as it is a juice detox but by the end I had never felt so full of energy and good about my body which was down to my pre-pregnancy weight for the first time in 14 years.
I am so enthusiastic about the Juicemaster approach I have converted my hairdresser, my sister-in-law, and her children. Another relative saw her daughter looking so radiant, she has started juicing too!
I was really pleased with the way I looked but I needed my body and mind to be aligned or was I going to just go back to my old ways and put the weight back on, which is quite common for people who lose weight. At Christmas we were away in Germany staying with friends who are fantastic cooks and always had a wonderful selection of fresh German breads and cheeses to choose from. Since I don’t normally eat a lot of that, I found myself indulging at every possible opportunity and ended up coming home feeling sluggish and tired. I have now got back on track and did another few days of Jason Vale’s, Juice Yourself Slim which included juices, smoothies, soups and salads.
Jason recommends integrating juices and smoothies into every day life and has a follow up book: Turbo Charge Your Life in 14 Days. In that book he recommends 10 rules to live by for permanent and healthy weight loss of which the first three are:
1) Chew your food thoroughly
2) Only eat when you are physically hungry
3) Stop eating when you are just full
Do I do any of these??? So I realised some EFT was needed as soon as possible so that my mind and body were aligned and in harmony. I chose to address rule number 3 since that felt like my biggest obstacle and I used Picture Tapping (PTT) which involves making a picture of how you feel about your issue and then tapping on the picture and repeating this process until you feel you have reached resolution.
Below are the pictures of my session.
