Happy 1st Birthday Blog!

by | Feb 4, 2014 | EFT | 0 comments

A year ago on 4th Feb 2013, I started blogging and I didn’t realise how much fun it would be!  I was in the middle a course with Janey Lee Grace called PR and Media Skills for Holistic Professionals who, with huge gratitude, I would consider my midwife for the birth of my blog.  Even during her session on blogging ideas were streaming into my head and I couldn’t rest until I had put them onto paper or typed them out.  Since then I have had many a sleepless night with ideas coming at me at the most inappropriate moments.  In despair recently, I posted this message out to my facebook friends:

“Feeling really tired – I keep waking up with articles in my head to write that won’t let me get back to sleep. Think I’m addicted – any suggestions???”

I had lots of helpful replies, mostly suggesting I take my own medicine and do some EFT – grrrrrr!!!  My favourite response was this picture by Rosalarian courtesy of Lynda Craven. I have been looking for this device on amazon but nobody seems to stock it!

Writers cartoonMy first blog was life was about having fun and that theme has flowed through  the year for me – running my first 10k mini marathon, singing and dancing in the show, The Wedding Singer, taking part in a flashmob, laughing more and the best thing is that my daughter now considers me a fun mum (after years of telling me I don’t know how to have fun – which was true!).

To date, the 5 most popular blogs I have published are:

Musings on eating habits and weight loss  (if you like this one, the story continues here:  Weight loss, Weightwatchers, Jason Vale & Picture EFT)

I’m not going to tell you about the least popular ones as they are a bit rough anyway!

The date that had the most visits to my blog was the 1st Jan 2014.

My secret (well not so secret since I am writing this out to the world!) desire for this year is to become a column writer for Psychologies Magazine so if anyone reading this has any tips on how to achieve that, please let me know!

I could not have written this blog without the support of family and friends so with huge gratitude, I would like to thank:

  • all my friends who were willing to read my blogs before publishing and give constructive comments,
  • my husband, Peter, who was forced to read pretty much all my blogs before publishing them,
  • all of your readers who have followed, commented and liked my blog.
  • Lastly,  a BIG thank you to my husband, Peter, and daughter, Keona, for putting up with my obsession with shutting myself in my office on many occasions which has fondly (or irritatingly!) been termed my bloggarhea!   I haven’t yet googled Blogaholics Anonymous but maybe I should!

I am so relived right now that my family are out and I can enjoy a guilt free date with my computer and write to my hearts content even though the house is a mess and the chores aren’t done!

Looking forward to an even more fun year of blogging and writing…
