Guys and Dolls and reasons for a Common Cold

by | May 27, 2014 | EFT | 0 comments

Last night I watched the classic fun musical Guys and Dolls.  In the story Miss Adelaide develops a cold and according to the lyrics of the song she sings:

Miss Adelaide Cold
“The average unmarried female,
Basically insecure,
Due to some long frustration may react
With psychosomatic symptoms,
Difficult to endure,
Affecting the upper respiratory tract.”

Although this may sound amusing or condensing to modern ears, it is interesting to hear what  Meta Health says about the connection of thoughts and feelings to physical symptoms.  Meta Health is a “revolutionary approach to understanding how our thoughts, feelings and behaviours our health and personal development are fully integrated. It provides us with a precise bio-psycho-social model which enables health professionals to find root mental and emotional cause and behaviourial meaning of any illness. It works by using the body’s own biological survival programming and scientifically maps physical symptoms, via the brain, to their primal cause.

According to The Biogenealogy Sourcebook by Christian Fleche, which is based on the theory of Meta Health, “a cold is associated with experiencing something displeasing or connected to a sense of anxiety experienced as an intrusion”. So if a woman is wanting to marry a man  but he keeps giving excuses and messing her around (as in Guys and Dolls) one can see how this may relate.  That is not to say that every woman who has difficultly getting the man she loves to marry her will suffer from colds!  It depends how she interprets that information.

If you experience a physical symptom, it is often interesting to research the possible root cause and then use EFT to release emotional charge in that.  For examples of how this has been used read:

In our EFT workshops, we teach how to use EFT on physical symptoms and on Level 2, we often introduce the Meta Health model and Biogenealogy Sourcebook as great tools to further increase success with releasing physical issues.
