Recently I’ve been collecting stories from mothers for my book, “Frazzled to Fabulous in 5 Minutes a Day”, about how they have incorporated EFT into their lives to support their parenting. Here is an inspiring anecdote from single mum, Charlotte Benz:
“With my two young children, I ‘escaped’ an unhealthy relationship. I was on police protection and it was a traumatic time. Being a newly single and working mother of a two year old and three month old and suffering post traumatic stress, this situation was more than just challenging.
I knew about Tapping and the thought kept coming to me to do it.
I repeatedly told myself there was no time for me to tap, that the kids needs came first. Then those horrible moments of overwhelm would wash over me, like a great wave of negativity that I thought I was literally going to crack. I’d feel so many emotions… hopelessness, guilt and anxiety. And even though I knew deep down that my response to a situation creates the outcome, I still felt like a victim and that life had left me down.
I recall how I watched my babies sleep one evening, saw how beautiful and precious they were. I knew in my heart I had the power to shift my perception and look for the gift in this situation; I could embrace the opportunity and grow or break down and leave my children with no mother.

So I made my decision and the tapping process began…
Even the very first tapping felt like a relief and a victory. And there were actually plenty of windows of time to tap away negative thoughts and feelings that surfaced. Every short routine got me a little bit further along my journey of recovery.
It’s been over a year and I am in a completely different place emotionally. I do at least 3 Tappings every day, two in the morning and 1-2 in the evenings.
Life feels wonderful now. I actually love my life as a single mum. I have my moments, of course, but I’m in control now and I just go Tap! Because I continue to give to myself through tapping, I have so much more to gift my children. The metaphoric well is regularly filled up and so I share that with my children and am more inspired with life. ”
Not only is Charlotte using EFT on herself and with her children, she is also drawing on her creative talents and, together with her brother, they have composed a fun song for children to learn and use EFT.
