Are you a new mum or dad?

It can be exhilarating and terrifying at the same time, becoming a new mum or dad. You may read a ton of baby books but nothing actually prepares you for the real thing. Sometimes I think there is almost too much information out there on becoming a mum…it can get confusing. Plus, there are all sorts of pressures about what “being a good mum” is all about.

As a mum myself I know how overwhelming this can be. I think it can be as hard for dads too because nowadays more and more fathers are directly involved with parenting and also feel the pressure to be the best dad ever!

New mum advice

I don’t want to add to your overwhelm, I want to try and ease some of the stress. So, my one piece of simple advice is to take each day as it comes, breathe deeply when you feel anxious and ASK FOR HELP!! Being a new mum is not some kind of test of your ability, it is a wonderful, challenging, crucially important job. There are very few “real” jobs, i.e. paid work, where you are expected to do everything alone. Why think motherhood or parenthood is a solo task?

Tapping for new mums

I wish I had known about EFT when I became a mum for the first time. It is truly one of the best techniques I have ever learned to help with feelings of overwhelm and/or anxiety. so, to help all you new mums out there- I made this video – EFT for new mums to give you something you can use to bring the calm back. I do hope it helps…let me know if there is any other way I can help.
