Time out? There’s not enough time for that!time out

Why is it that being a mother means you don’t take time out for yourself? Are you forever feeling that you don’t have enough time for that as you run around after your children? Why don’t children understand that you don’t have enough time?

Partly it’s because adults sense of time and children’s sense of time is completely different. Maybe we should learn to accommodate a child’s perception of urgency a bit more into our own lives. Think about how it feels when someone tells you to “hurry up”. There is an almost immediate sense of anxiety, or at the least irritation. Do you want that for your children? When we get anxious because they are taking FOREVER to put on their shoes and we know the traffic is bad if we leave 5 minutes later….what message are we sending when we urge them to hurry up? They know that school will be there whenever they arrive and that you will get them there, because you are the adult! What about your time, time off, time out, do you take any?

Take time out you need to recharge

Mothers and parents feel a huge responsibility to make everything right, even perfect, in their children’s lives and so there never feels like there is enough time to do everything. This results in the mum never taking any time out for herself.

Watch my video below for some tips on why taking time out is important.

Managing time is one of the biggest stressers for mothers and taking time out for yourself can sometimes seem impossible.

It doesn’t have to be that way.
