According to this article in The Sun “a few white lies can make the school holidays just a little bit easier for stressed parents”. Some of the fibs in the article include:
– THE TV ONLY WORKS IN THE AFTERNOON
– MY SWIMMING COSTUME SHRANK IN THE WASH
– THE SAT NAV TOOK US THE WRONG WAY BECAUSE YOU WERE FIGHTING
Now I’m not hear to tell you whether its right or wrong to fib to your children. All I am saying is that these kind of fibs are told when you are low on the Wellbeing Scale. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, it ranges from -10 through 0 to +10. -10 is feeling worst ever, -5 usually includes feelings such as blame, overwhelm and stress, 0 is neutral, +5 is feelings such as hopefulness and optimism and +10 is on top of the world.
Sadly many of us spent much of our time on the negative side of the Wellbeing Scale. Just look at the faces of commuters on a Monday morning on the London tube!
Juggling kids, home and work during the summer holidays is not a recipe for increasing your sense of wellbeing!
But starting the day with some EFT, even if its just 5 minutes, can set you up for a better day, help you feel calmer, more positive and optimistic, raising you up the wellbeing scale. When you are in the positive zone, little fibs will be replaces with tolerance, acceptance, patience and as you rise higher joy and love!
So find 5 minutes to yourself today and every day (out of the 1440 available) to create a happier summer break for you and your children.
Here is a video that I made with a mum to support her with EFT in preparing for the summer holidays.
